Will Disney World Ever Bring Back Soarin’ Over California? We Have a Clue!

Well, we enjoyed Soarin’ Over California while it lasted in EPCOT.

Soarin’ Over California

Soarin’ Over California is the original version of this ride, with Soarin’ Around The World replacing it in Disney World in 2016. We just got a chance to experience it back in Disney World for a few months, but Soarin’ Around the World returned on February 28th. But could the California version return to EPCOT someday? Here’s what we know!

It had been about 8 years since we last saw Soarin’ Over California return to Disney World it was brought back late last year to celebrate Disney’s 100th Anniversary.

Each year, both EPCOT and Disney California Adventure celebrate their Food and Wine Festivals. In California Adventure, that usually means that Soarin’ Over California returns for the duration of the festival before switching back to Soarin’ Around The World.

Now, Disney hasn’t confirmed anything yet, but since it was such a HIT in EPCOT these past few weeks, we’re holding out hope that Disney World may choose to bring the ride back for a festival on an annual basis, too!

We’re really hoping the heightened interest in the old version of the attraction will inspire Disney to bring it back for at least part of EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!

  1. Look, what this really needs is some good old Disney imagineering. This whole experience is digital. Disney should produce some more “destination” content and then stitch the destinations together randomly so that every time you ride you get a different “itinerary”. This would keep people coming back perpetually.

But considering that Tomorrowland Speedway remains the biggest contributor to global warming at WDW, despite how easy that would be to fix, I don’t see Disney doing anything to improve either attraction.
