Why EPCOT Will Be Crowded in October

EPCOT has a lot going on right now in Disney World, and new things are going to start opening up over the next few months.

Spaceship Earth

We now have a timeframe for the end of the EPCOT Transformation, and one of the largest projects that is opening soon is Journey of Water: Inspired by Moana. Which is why if you’re heading to EPCOT in October, you need to watch out for the crowds.

Previews have already begun for this new attraction, and we really enjoyed getting to see what Journey of Water has to offer!

This means, though, that the walkthrough attraction is likely to be even MORE crowded when it opens.

Te Fiti at night

Despite it being a walkthrough attraction, there is a limit on how many guests can be inside it at a time, meaning that lines could form! This is an attraction you can move through at your own pace, and we recommend you really take it all in (especially if you’ve waited for a while in line) but keep in mind that there are other guests behind you who want to experience it as well!

Ocean Effect

But this doesn’t only mean this attraction will have longer waits — the whole park will be busier, because what are these guests going to do before and after they experience Journey of Water? That’s right, most likely they’ll check out the rest of the park!

Journey of Water will officially open in EPCOT on October 16th, so from that point forward, keep in mind that crowds may shoot up! Since park pass reservations are still in effect for most guests (but that will change in 2024), make sure you have those booked ASAP so you don’t miss your chance to get in the park.
