Construction is all over Disney World; that’s not a surprise to most guests.

We keep an eye on all the latest construction updates, including the ones regarding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! But how much has the construction process really developed since the beginning of the year?
Splash Mountain Closes
The first biggest change was in January of 2023 when Splash Mountain officially closed for good. Within days of the closure, construction had begun. While the bathrooms near the ride were still open, a green scrim was put up so people couldn’t see what was going on.

Walls were also quickly erected around the outside of the ride itself.

It didn’t take long for the Splash Mountain remnants to disappear.
Tiana’s Food Signs
In February, we noticed that signs for Tiana’s Food started to be placed around Frontierland.

This is related to the ride’s lore, as Tiana’s Foods is Tiana’s employee-owned company, where the community works together to help members of the community.

Cranes
Soon after, cranes were introduced into the mix.

Scaffolding with blue scrim was also placed up at multiple points of the ride, blocking our view inside the ride. Whatever they’re doing in there is a mystery for now!
The Queue Completely Changed
Meanwhile, the queue was looking totally different! The old birdhouses were removed, and the queue path itself was widened.

Meanwhile, more changes were coming.
The Track Itself is Under Construction
We were also able to see that the bottom of the hill (after the big drop) was drained and covered with tarps and wood.

This could be general refurbishment or something new; we’ll have to wait and see!
Tree Stump Totally Removed
In April, we noticed that the tree stump that had been at the top of Splash Mountain was completely removed.

This was a really big moment, as it showed that another large piece of Splash Mountain was gone.
The Water Tower
Then in June, something HUGE happened — the Water Tower was added outside the ride!

We knew this was coming since it was in the concept art for the ride, but seeing it arrive in person was incredible.
Even MORE Queue Construction
Around the same time, we noticed lots of blue scrims and digging happening in the outdoor queue.

It looks like parts of the queue are being totally reimagined, and we’re really looking forward to seeing what it’s going to look like.

We weren’t sure if the queue would really change that much, but now we know!
More Building Construction
The most recent change we’ve seen is additional scaffolding around different parts of the building.

And those are all the changes we’ve seen so far! Be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney construction updates.
