The Mysterious 50th Anniversary CHANGE We Spotted in Disney World

Disney World’s Most Magical Celebration will soon be coming to a close.

The 50th Anniversary is an 18-month celebration that has brought fun decor, costumes, fireworks, and more to the parks — but it will all be ending on March 31st. We were in Magic Kingdom recently when we noticed some 50th Anniversary theming has already gone MISSING from an unexpected item.

Some of the biggest changes Disney has made recently are the ones on Cinderella Castle. In 2020, it got a fresh coat of paint (in celebration of the 70th anniversary of Cinderella). And it later got special 50th Anniversary decorations.

While the fate of the castle decor after the 50th Anniversary is still up in the air, we recently saw that some decorations have disappeared from the popular castle playset! During the 50th Anniversary, the Castle playset was all decked out to look like the real-life thing with 50th decor and signs.

We’ve seen this set sold at a discount at times, which is not much of a surprise since the end of the 50th Anniversary is near. But recently we saw an even bigger change made.

During a recent trip to the parks, a Castle playset was still available — but it did NOT have all of the 50th Anniversary decor! We found this particular set in the Emporium in Magic Kingdom.

It is interesting to note, however, that the Castle in the set still has the newer pink color. Could this be an indication of what the castle will look like after the 50th Anniversary ends? It seems the main change is the removal of the 50th sign in the center of the castle and the removal of the decor on the turrets.
