Why Disney Fans Need to Mark Their Calendars for January 22nd

We’re heading into 2023 in Disney World, and it’s going to be a BIG year!

Magic Kingdom

We’re ready to check out the new attractions coming this year, like TRON Lightcycle Run and Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana, as well as the new restaurants coming to the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. But if you’re traveling soon, there’s one thing you need to remember!

If you’ve been in the Disney news loop, you probably know that Splash Mountain is closing at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom to be transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, featuring characters from The Princess and the Frog.

The new ride is set to open in 2024, and while we don’t have a closing date for Splash Mountain at Disneyland, we DO have one for Magic Kingdom. The ride will officially shut down on January 23rd, 2023. That means that your last day to ride will be January 22nd.

So if you’re visiting in the next few weeks, make sure to get those final rides in before the closure! And if it’s a must-do for you and you have a trip planned near the closing date, you’ll want to make sure your Magic Kingdom reservation falls before the ride closes.

We’ll be there on the closing day to bring you all the news, so stay tuned to AllEars. We’ll make sure to share any other important dates that you need to know for 2023!
