Opening Date POSTPONED for Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Disney World

In 2019, Disney announced a new addition coming to Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Roundup Rodeo BBQ, which was originally supposed to open 2020. Unfortunately, the ever-changing COVID-19 pandemic delayed that opening.

In January, Disney announced a new opening timeline of late 2022. Now, however, that opening has changed once again — here’s the latest news!

Today, Disney announced that Roundup Rodeo will be opening in the Spring of 2023.

Toy Story Land already features a popular quick-service restaurant, Woody’s Lunchbox. The new Roundup Rodeo BBQ table service restaurant is themed to make guests feel as though they have been shrunken down to the size of a toy and are attending a rodeo thrown by Andy’s toys!

The restaurant’s building is made to look as though Andy created it using crafting supplies like cardboard and tape. There are two dining rooms, each featuring “surprising, playful details, like some fan-favorite Pixar characters as they’ve never been seen before,” according to Disney.

Disney released a first look, showing some of the decor that will be inside the restaurant.

Disney said that some of the decor will include “a steam train supported by colored pencils, a suspiciously impressive house of cards, and game boards featuring beloved characters from the Toy Story films.” The restaurant looks like a cardboard box from the inside, with “hand-drawn audience members” that Andy created. The rodeo’s “star performers” are “Jessie, Trixie, and Bo Peep with her leapin’ sheep Billy, Goat, and Gruff!”

Disney also revealed that this spot will serve “barbecue-inspired comfort foods served family-style, with platters of house-smoked meats, a roundup of sides, and some miniature sweet surprises along the way.”
