Being a Disney World Annual Passholder certainly has its perks.

You get to visit the parks frequently, receive exclusive merchandise, and even get discounts on things like dining and hotels. But, one super convenient passholder perk is being able to use the exclusive Annual Passholder entrance in the parks — and it looks like the Magic Kingdom Annual Passholder entrance just got an upgrade…kind of!
We were heading into Magic Kingdom today when we noticed something a little different — the Annual Passholder entrance ticket scanner was GOLD!

Instead of the silver turnstiles we’re used to seeing, it appears Annual Passholders are now getting the golden treatment when they enter Magic Kingdom.

However, that wasn’t the only aspect of the Annual Passholder entrance that was “upgraded,” as the Cast Member who scanned us in shared that there were system upgrades done that appeared to make scanning in take twice as long. It definitely wasn’t as quick as we’re used to when we passed through!
The Cast Member wasn’t sure if the system was still being worked on, so it could be that this is just a temporary issue.

We’ll keep an eye out for any other new Annual Passholder entrances to pop up around the other parks and let you know what we find. If you’re looking for more AP news, see the latest update on sales here. You can also check out more Annual Pass discounts here.
