Disney World is a very popular vacation destination all year long, but there are certain times of the year when it’s even more crowded than usual.

During the summer break and winter holiday times, we’ll see crowds increase at the parks and hotels. But there are some lesser-known “holidays” that you might not realize bring in huge crowds. Find out why Disney World is PACKED today, on a seemingly random Monday in November.
This morning, we noticed some huge crowds when we arrived at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) on our way to Magic Kingdom. The TTC is where you’ll go if you drive yourself to Magic Kingdom — from the TTC, there are ferry boats, Monorails, and occasionally buses that go to Magic Kingdom.

Although we’re used to seeing some pretty long lines at the TTC on occasion, this morning was one of the busiest we’ve seen in a LONG time. There was a huge crowd waiting for the Monorail…

…and even more people over at the Ferryboat station.

On crowded days, Disney will also run buses between the TTC and Magic Kingdom, and that’s what happened today.

So why is Monday, November 7th such a busy day in Disney World? Well, this past weekend was a runDisney race weekend, which brought in a lot of runners who wanted to participate in the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. It looks like many of those participants decided to stick around and enjoy the parks after their hard work!

We often see runDisney race weekends bring big crowds to the parks, so you may want to double-check your vacation dates to see if you can avoid visiting during one of these races. If you’re participating in a race, make sure you get your Park Pass, hotel, and dining reservations early so that you can get all the reservations you want before they sell out.
You may want to consider staying at a Disney World hotel (to take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry) or purchasing Genie+ during your stay as well so that you can avoid some long ride lines.

It’s Jersey week.
The schools in New Jersey are closed this week and thousands of families came to Disney, hence Jersey Week. Race week also contributed hundreds if not thousands of additional guests, and Veterans Day holiday brings even more people to the parks. I think I’ll avoid early November from now on.
