The holidays have arrived in Disney World and you know what that means!

CROWDS. The holiday season draws lots of visitors to the parks with so much to do at the resort including EPCOT Festival of the Holidays and the giant gingerbread displays. However, there is another event that draws huge crowds to Disney World around this time of year — runDisney’s Wine and Dine Half Marathon!

runDisney weekends tend to be some of the busiest weekends in the parks and at the hotels as people from all over the world come to race and get their medals. After the races, these visitors tend to come into the parks, which is why it took us almost an hour to get into EPCOT today!

EPCOT was crowded today

There were tons of cars waiting to get into the parking lot and the lot itself was full and busy. Inside the park, we noticed some pretty crowded areas like the Mexico pavilion!

A sea of strollers

However, the Japan pavilion was a bit less crowded when we walked by. We expected EPCOT to be busy because there is a post race party in the park.

Not too bad here

But it seemed like Magic Kingdom was the most crowded park today. At the Transportation and Ticket Center, the Monorail line was long even a couple hours after the park opened.

Park passes were sold out for this park today, so again, we assumed it would be a pretty busy day.

Adventureland was packed…

Hollywood Studios was not too crowded. Toy Story Land had a decent amount of people but it was not packed.
