BIG Changes Are Happening With Construction in Disney World

Disney World is in FULL holiday mode!

Holidays in Hollywood Studios

We’ve still got a few days until Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but we’ve already seen holiday decor, some holiday treats, and a BUNCH of seasonal merchandise. But the holidays aren’t the only big thing happening in Disney World — we’ve also got some major construction projects going on!

Magic Kingdom

First off, we’ve got some progress over at the TRON coaster, where most of the pathway has been poured, landscaping has continued, and crews are installing the final elements of the outdoor theming. Just in time for a spring opening season!

Next door, we also noticed progress at the Walt Disney World Railroad Fantasyland Station. The train tracks are all connecting, and they were testing the stability this week!

Train construction!

The train has been closed since 2018, so we’ll be VERY excited to ride it again!

EPCOT

In the middle of EPCOT, we’ve got some new updates to share. More work was being done on Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana this week as crews continued to add greenery to the rock structures.

There were multiple cranes on site this week as well, and we noticed more additions to the CommuniCore Hall building. It has a second floor!

We can’t wait to see these projects get completed by the end of next year!

Hollywood Studios

In Toy Story Land, construction continued on Roundup Rodeo BBQ. This week, we got a sign (that’s still covered up) with little toy lanterns! It’s pretty close to the walkway.

We’re excited to check out this spot. It’s supposed to open before the end of the year, but no date has been set yet.

Animal Kingdom

Over at DINOSAUR, the Iguanadon fountain is still surrounded by rolling hedges. We haven’t seen or heard any work over here recently, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled.

Poor Dinosaur

Disney hasn’t revealed what’s going on with the construction here, but it has been going on for a few months.

Disney Hotels

Over at Wilderness Lodge, we’ve got construction continuing at the Copper Creek Villas. The whole building is covered in scaffolding. You might hear construction noises out and about at the resort while these rooms get refurbished.

Those are all the big updates we’ve got this week, but stay tuned to AllEars fo more construction news from the theme parks. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes that you might not notice on a regular visit to the parks!

And if you’re planning a holiday season visit to Disney World, we’ll be sharing all the celebrations throughout the season. We’re attending the Christmas party, trying the snacks, and so much more!
