Who’s ready to take on Mount Everest again?

That’s right, Expedition Everest has reopened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but with that reopening comes a huge change! The ride’s Lightning Lane is no longer available as an Individual Attraction Selection (pay-per-ride) through Disney Genie. Instead, you can now get Lightning Lane Access by purchasing Disney Genie+ for a limited time!
So how exactly does that work? Well, we’ll explain it! You’ll first need to purchase Disney Genie+ on the My Disney Experience app for $15 per day per person. This will get you access to Lightning Lanes for every ride at Animal Kingdom except for Flight of Passage.
Note that Disney World guests can purchase Disney Genie+ on the day of their trip at midnight or can purchase it in advance if they want to use it for every day of their trip.

Once you have Genie+, you can book your Lightning Lane for Expedition Everest beginning at 7AM on the day of your visit to Animal Kingdom. Just look for Expedition Everest on Disney Genie in the app to see when the next available Lightning Lane pass and click on “Book Experience” to reserve your spot!

Once you have your spot saved, be sure to arrive at Expedition Everest’s Lightning Lane within your 1-hour reservation window. You’ll scan your MagicBand, phone, or park ticket at the Lightning Lane line, and then you’re all set to ride!

Note that Expedition Everest was actually closed when Animal Kingdom opened this morning, but it later reopened with the attraction becoming available via Disney Genie+.

So if you’re headed to Disney World soon and you want to ride Expedition Everest without the long lines, Genie+ is one way to do that! And, we’ll keep you updated on ALL Disney news, so stay tuned to AllEars for more!
