Expedition Everest Reopens After Refurbishment in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

One of our favorite rides is back after refurbishment!

We can’t wait for this attraction to return!

Disney World rides close all the time in order to make sure that they’re in perfect condition for guests. This is why it’s super important to check the refurbishment calendar when you’re planning your trip so you know which rides will be open during your vacation. Expedition Everest closed for refurbishment back in January, and we saw it being tested in February. Now, it’s finally back!

After experiencing technical difficulties this morning resulting in the ride remaining closed, Expedition Everest has officially reopened in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! We (safely) speed-walked over when we saw the line was only 10 minutes long!

We weren’t the only ones headed over to the reopened ride though! A crowd quickly started to form as we walked up to the ride.

Even the single rider line was back up and running with a wait of about 15 minutes or less according to a Cast Member (even though it looked a little long to us). This can be a great way to hop on the ride with a shorter wait time, as the line had grown to a whopping 70 minutes by noon!

Keep in mind that Expedition Everest is now included in Genie+ for a limited time, so you won’t have to pay extra for an Individual Attraction Selection if you’re purchasing the service during your day in the park.
