Occasionally Disney will close a park early for special events or Cast Member celebrations, and it looks like one of those days is coming up!
Magic Kingdom will be closing early on May 3rd, 2022. The park’s hours are currently listed as 9AM to 4:30PM. That’s pretty early for the popular park to close!
Don’t forget, this likely means you won’t be able to catch any fireworks in the Magic Kingdom that day either!
If you’re planning a park day on May 3rd, you might want to choose a different park, or start your day early in the Magic Kingdom!

This stinks. Been planning this trip for 6 months and got all the meal reservations and promised granddaughter fireworks show. Planned out days to the t. Doesn’t seem fair something I bought can suddenly lose 1/3 of its operating hours after I bought it without some sort of compensation. I called and asked if I could buy a 1/2 day ticket to go back another day and finish the day as planned and told no.
The days the park closes early are the BEST days to go!!! We got so much much more done that day then our other full day at the park. It was our favorite day of the entire week!
Julie, thank you for that comment. We are scheduled to visit WDW the first week in May. As the Magic Kingdom is closing early on May 3rd, I thought that most people would avoid the Park. So, I am going to make a reservation for that day. You input is invaluable!

Do parades, calvacades and castle shows still happen on these early close days? I have very young children so fireworks aren’t a big deal to miss, but I would hate to miss all the live entertainment too!
