PHOTOS: We Stayed at An Underrated EPCOT Resort Hotel

Over by the Magic Kingdom, the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian Resorts seem to get a lot of attention, but there are plenty of other Deluxe Resorts to discuss! It’s time to let another resort get a little recognition.

Welcome to the Beach Club!

If you’re looking for a resort with lots of fun transportation options, an incredible-smelling lobby, and a unique pool, you might want to consider staying at Disney’s Beach Club Resort!

Resort Atmosphere

There are two “sister” resorts right next to each other called Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Both fall under the Deluxe Resort category, meaning these rooms can get pretty expensive!

The Beach Club Resort is stunning!

One of the most popular features of the Beach Club hotel is its large sand-bottom pool. This pool is so big that it even has a lazy river and a water slide!

This hotel has a big pool!

There are tons of different seating areas, but on a busy day the pool deck could still fill up! If you want good seats, we recommend hitting the pool early.

There’s plenty of seating!

Another one of the big perks of staying at the Beach Club is that it is within walking distance of EPCOT! Guests can follow a pathway that leads straight to the EPCOT International Gateway, and the Skyliner!

It’s a short walk to EPCOT!

If you don’t feel like walking, you can also hop on a boat! The boats in this area take guests to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT!

Now that you’ve got an idea of the atmosphere, let’s check out our room!

Room Tour

We stayed in a standard-view room in the main building — room 4966, to be exact!

Let’s explore!

Right when you enter, you’ll find a standard-sized closet to your left. It comes with several hangers, and some extra pillows and blankets. You know, all the typical closet necessities!

It’s a standard closet

There’s also a small electronic safe in the closet.

There’s also a safe in the room

Right next to the closet you will find the coffee station/mini-fridge. This is the perfect area to keep all your water bottles, leftovers, and snacks!

The mini-fridge is by the door

The coffee station has a Keurig machine and some complimentary coffee, creamer, and sugar.

The mini-fridge has two main shelves and plenty of room for drinks.

The mini-fridge is a nice size!

There’s also a drawer you can use for extra storage.

A little extra storage!

Moving on from the entryway, you’ve got a straight path to the room! Our room had two queen-size beds.

Let’s check out the main room!

The room is pretty plain, but it’s nice and bright! Each bed has two personal lights that have their own light switches.

It’s very light and bright!

Unfortunately, these beds don’t have any space underneath for storage, but there’s plenty of space elsewhere to keep your luggage.

Those beds look so comfy!

Of course, there’s a large TV across from the beds, plus a small desk.

The TV is centered between both beds

For four people, there’s still plenty of breathing room!

It’s a pretty standard-sized room

We have to give a little shout-out to Disney Housekeeping! Who doesn’t love a little Disney-inspired towel art?

We love fun little details like this!

The headboards feature some pretty mother of pearl trim around the edge of the bed that is very chic — and on-theme!

The headboard is so pretty!

Between the beds, there is one small table with two drawers. Note that there is no outlet on the table, so you’ll have to plug in your electronics somewhere else.

The end table is a little small!

The drawers aren’t especially large, but you can still fit some clothing in there if you want!

You could put your Minnie ears in there!

To the left of the bed, there is a little extra space that’s perfect for luggage!

We call this: “suitcase corner”

There is also a small desk across from the beds with two one outlet.

Handy little desk

For a little late-night snack or a quick breakfast, you can roll out a little table from under the desk.

Bonus table!

The main TV console has lots of drawers and cabinets, as well as some extra outlets. Think of this as the handy catch-all space for your essentials!

Extra counter space

The remote comes in a sealed bag for extra sanitation! If you’d like to learn more, there’s a sign that explains the enhanced cleaning procedures.

This is a good spot to charge your phones

Over by the bathroom, you’ll find two sinks outside the shower area.

Let’s check out the bathroom!

The sink space is quite large, and you even have a little extra space for toiletries and makeup on the small ledge above the sinks.

Lots of counter space

The room comes with a makeup mirror; you know, the kind that enhances your pores so much you sometimes feel a little icky?

Makeup mirror

As this is a Deluxe room, you will get an assortment of free soap!

Free soap!

The bathroom itself has a nice-sized shower with additional soap.

There’s also a full-length mirror on the door

You’ll start out with four towels in the bathroom, but you can always ask for more!

It’s a nice little bathroom

The tub has an extra shelf, which is great if you bring your own shampoo and conditioner.

Nice clean tub!

Our room also came with a little balcony area!

Balcony time!

The balcony is very small (we’re talking one person max), but it’s a balcony nonetheless!

It’s teeeeny tiny

Although we had a Standard View room, we could see the pool!

We got a great view!

That about concludes our room tour! What did you think?

Overall impression

Our room at the Beach Club Resort was very nice! We thought the room was clean, bright, and comfortable. Like most other Deluxe Resorts, this room had more subtle theming, but it was still very pretty! These rooms are pretty expensive, but if you’re looking for a hotel that’s close to EPCOT, you can’t beat the Beach Club.

  1. My favorite resort! Shhhh…keep it quiet. If it’s underrated that means less people. Less people means more rooms for me. ha! In all serious yacht and beach club vibe is amazing. My first choice always.

  2. The Beach Club may be my favorite resort. We brought along my parents for my kids first WDW trip and stayed in a 2 bdrm villa. Room was spacious and the location can’t be beat with access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. It’s not cheap, but definitely worth checking out if you want to stay on property.

  3. The Beach Club is in no way underrated! It’s very expensive to stay there, though worth it, IMO. It’s always busy. Great resort

  4. This is our home resort we stay here often. Being close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios is a huge plus.

The one thing that rarely gets mentioned is that it is also within short walking distance to Hollywood stuidios.

    1. “Short Distance” is a relative term. It’s about a mile, depending on where you stay at the resort. After a long hot day of touring the park, that’s a serious trek. The addition of the skyliner, however, has made these resorts a better location than any of the monorail resorts, IMO. Closer to AK, skyliner to DHS, separate entrance to EPCOT. Only a Bus to MK (not a fan of busses, but they have gotten better over the last few years), but at least you get dropped off at the front door without having to choose the ferry or monorail.

  5. Fav resort on property. LOVE the smell of the lobby. True that there is not a quick-service restaurant, but the marjetplace has souvenirs and hot meals. We ate breakfast their almost every morning (Capr May was closed for Covid). Better breakfast than the surrounding hotels (yacht and boardwalk).

  6. Hi, yes to beach club. I know the prices vary hugely, but it would be helpful to say off peak e.g feb to may you may pay $ , peak season
, More likely $. It helps us to put what we are looking at into perspective.

  7. I am looking forward to a split stay between the Yacht Club next door and the Dolphin for my next trip. Looking forward to it!

      1. No, but I have stayed at the Swan this past November. Dolphin is cheaper than the Swan so that’s why I chose it for next time. Great location. My only issue was that our bathroom fan didn’t work the entire week, I texted their maintenance twice, and at check-out they refused to compensate me anything. But for the location I’ll stay there again. Plus it’s cheaper than Yacht, Beach, and Boardwalk. You can’t use magicbands to open the hotel door because it’s not Disney, but they give you a room card.

  8. We stayed at the Beach Club once and liked it (DVC room). Being so close to Epcot and easy walking distance to Hollywood Studios made this a great location. Yes, the lobby does smell great! Of course the sand bottom pool is very nice.

The only downside was the quick serve–or lack there of. But, being so close to Epcot, heck, we would walk France for a treat.

I am not sure why this is an underrated resort, however. When I read the title I thought this was going to be about the Boardwalk resort.
