Construction projects can really sneak up on you in Disney World if you aren’t prepared! There’s nothing worse than walking up to the entrance of an attraction, only to realize it’s closed! At AllEars, our goal is to help you avoid this unfortunate scenario, which is why we’re back with a weekly refurbishment update.

If you’re visiting Disney World during the second week of February, it’s a good idea to see what will be closed during your vacation. Let’s take a look at everything that will be unavailable in Disney World from February 7th to February 13th, 2022.
Magic Kingdom Refurbishments
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad in the Magic Kingdom has been closed for a pretty long time! While Imagineers continue to work on the new TRON roller coaster, the railroad remains closed. (The railroad runs through the construction zone!)

We’re still waiting for an official opening date for TRON: Lightcycle Run, so until then, we’ll have to wait to take a ride on the train! Interestingly, though, we saw a little testing on the Walt Disney World Railroad recently, so maybe good news is on the way!

Splash Mountain
Good news! Towards the end of the week, Splash Mountain is set to reopen after a few weeks of refurbishment! On February 11th, the attraction is listed as open on the Disney World website.

If you were wondering, this refurbishment was not related to the upcoming Princess and the Frog retheme. This was just Splash Mountain‘s annual check-up to make sure everything is in good working order!

Expedition Everest
Expedition Everest — Legend of the Forbidden Mountain in Disney’s Animal Kingdom will remain closed this week! This thrilling attraction closed for a lengthy 3-month refurbishment back on January 4th. Now that it’s February, we’re one step closer to the reopening date!

The Disney World website states that the closure will last through mid-April 2022. We did manage to catch a glimpse of some vehicle testing recently!

In the meantime, Typhoon Lagoon Water Park recently reopened, so you can still visit a waterpark this week!

The refurbishment is expected to last until April 2022. Luckily, the Uzima Springs Pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House is still open!

Is Splash Mountain closed every year at the same time for its annual refurbishment?
Animal Kingdom has barely any rides to begin with and they close Everest for 3 months. Across Spring Break no less. We are going in early April, hoping it is open by then.
