Lots of things have changed recently all over Disney World.

Some entertainment offerings have become available again, new fireworks shows have debuted, and new restaurants have opened. But, some things in Disney World are still closed or are being reimagined. And today we got some BIG news about a reimagined offering coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Finding Nemo: The Musical is a show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that tells the story of Finding Nemo and its popular characters by utilizing an elaborate set, amazing puppets, and fun musical numbers. The show has been unavailable since the pandemic, but earlier this year, Disney announced that the show is closing as we know it and will be reimagined!
At that time, Disney shared that the reimagined show will feature a new storyline based on the same characters. Select fan-favorite songs will remain in the reimagined show, including “In the Big Blue World” and “Go with the Flow.”

Today, at Destination D23, Disney announced some NEW, exciting details about the reimagined show! We learned that the new Finding Nemo musical will be called “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!”

The story will take place in the world of Finding Dory at the Marine Life Institute! We’ll see plenty of familiar faces, and likely some new friends from Finding Dory!

The show is set to debut at some point in 2022. We can’t wait to hear more about it and see it in person once it has opened. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney news!

I really like the Finding Nemo musical as it has been, but I guess everything has to evolve. Otherwise I’d never have let them remove Tarzan Rocks and the Hunchback Stage Show, and that just wouldn’t be very timely anymore, would it.
