Believe it or not, it gets cold in Florida!
Typically, this is the time that maintenance takes advantage of the weather and uses it to refurbish water rides at Disney World. We just got an indication that a popular water ride might be going down for refurbishment early next year.
The Disney World attraction calendar for Kali River Rapids in Disney’s Animal Kingdom shows “no times available” starting on January 3rd, 2021. The calendar states that no times are available through January 27th, which is when Disney’s calendar ends.
This update could be an indication that the ride will be down temporarily. It’s common for water rides to temporarily close during winter due to the weather and lack of water ride attendance. Nothing has been officially confirmed by Disney and it’s unclear what the possible refurb is scheduled for. We’ll keep you updated on Disney’s refurb schedules!
