“Rise” and Shine! Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Extending its Hours Even Further for Early 2020!

It’s a big time for Hollywood Studios. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has launched it into the Disney World spotlight, Toy Story Land is thriving, Rise of the Resistance is consistently booked solid… .

Plus they’ve got this sweet new sign. Aesthetic!

So if you’re looking for some extra time to enjoy everything Hollywood Studios has to offer, we’ve got some good news: hours have been extended even further into January!

We previously reported on extended hours at Hollywood Studios, but Disney has pushed things to the extreme with an earlier opening time through mid-January. Guests at Hollywood Studios can begin entering the park at 7AM with these extended hours lasting through January 11.

Even better, Rise of the Resistance will be open at 7AM, allowing you to book your Boarding Pass as soon as you enter.

If you want to take advantage of these early hours to board Rise of the Resistance, you’ll want to plan to arrive at the park around 6AM to 6:30. Be sure to have your full party with you as you get in line. Once everyone has scanned their passes or MagicBands to enter the park, use the My Disney Experience app to reserve your spot in the virtual queue. We recommend using cellular data over the complementary WiFi to avoid technical delays, but don’t forget to switch back to WiFi when you’re done!

  1. Need to update this article. HS opened at 6:00 on the 27th and 28th, and I suspect it will be opening at least this early for the rest of 2019. Furthermore, it is reported on Twitter that boarding groups to RotR closed at 6:05 this morning (12/28), just 5 minutes after official park opening! That means you better get tapped into the park well before 6:00 because it takes a few minutes for My Disney Experience to recognize you have tapped in, then hope you can get on a boarding group when boarding groups are accepted starting at official park opening at 6:00.
