Tips for Disney Parks & Cruise Lines

This might help anyone while going through airport security. I recently bought a safari vest in the Animal Kingdom, just like some of the cast members have. It's great because of the many pockets it has. I put everything that I am carrying on my person in it so when I have to empty my pockets at the security checkpoint, I just take off my vest and put it in the bin. It saves a lot of time and I also don't have to worry that I left something in the bucket. It is also great when you're in the parks. It has places for your camera, water bottles, even a pocket on the inside for storing a rain poncho. I also put my pins on it instead of wearing a lanyard sometimes as it give me a lot of room for pins. - Philip

For laundry, purchase and pack a mesh pop-up hamper. It was so nice to have a place to put our dirty laundry and just carry it by the handles down to the laundry room. They hold quite a bit of laundry and some even have pockets that you can stash some fabric softener sheets in. They are easy to fold back down flat for the trip home. - Jenni Miller

Pay attention to the dates! Each photo is online for 30 days from when it was taken. Make sure you claim your photos on http://www.disneyphotopass.com/ before the 30 days are up. They will be deleted from the system and can't be restored.

Save your ID number in some way! Write it down or take a digital picture of it. If you have your ID, you have your photos, no matter what happens to the card. Also remember, you can have more than one card! The PhotoPass site allows you to enter multiple IDs.

Before you leave the parks on your last day, go to one of the photo centers and have them upload the photos from your digital camera. They will use your Photopass card and upload your photos to the same Photopass. This was much faster than doing it from home. Then when I got home and looked at the Photopass, I was able to use the pictures from the Disney photographers as well as my own photos to create a Photobook. The album is great. I always take a spiral notebook along and leave it out in the room for "where we will be" notes. As family returns to the room/villa, they can see that, "Mom & Dad went to the main pool at 3:45 p.m., back to room at 6 p.m.," so they know where we are, and if they have time to jump into their suits and join us; or "left for Epcot at 9 a.m., remember dinner res 6 p.m. in Canada," etc. This notebook travels with us from year to year, and is fun to look through once in awhile! We like to take a small, locker-size magnetic dry erase board to leave messages for our clan. I will write the dining and park plans for the whole room to see, or my older kids can leave notes. They work really great in the DVC villas with the refrigerator or just by leaving it on the table in the room. It's a great way to keep in touch. - Wendy Braddick

Coronado Springs - We want to let "winter" vacationers know that the outdoor pools are heated. We stayed at the Coronado Springs Resort in October, and thought it was too cool to swim at night. One night I happened to see how cold the water was and to my surprise it was warmer than it was during the day. No one mentioned that the outdoor pools are heated! So fellow vacationers, enjoy the uncrowded pools under the stars, in the warm, warm heated pools. - Krista Hook
