My husband and I split the fish and chips and the salmon appetizer. I was a little disappointed that we only got one piece of fish (although it was a big one) and that the salmon appetizer didn't come with bread or crackers. But the food was good. And I had a nice glass of Riesling. The best part was watching Illuminations from our table on the back porch and the sticky toffee pudding. I think the food was overpriced, but I was expecting that at Disney.

Ate here for lunch last week. As usual, excellent service and the vegetarian cottage pie is awesome. Yes, it was hot, but I had plenty of water, with my glass of wine, and some breeze. They are so nice to parties of 1 here; Chloe was so sweet. A go to spot for me.
Pros:
always dependableCons:

We had lunch here on 9/5 without a reservation. I was surprised that we were able to get a table (inside!) in less than 5 mins. Our waiter was fast & friendly though difficult to understand at first. Once he asked where we were from he seemed to slow down his speech a little. DH had the bangers & mash which was very good. I just wanted something lite so I chose the trio of cheeses all of them were good & I really enjoyed the accompaniments. DS had the grilled chicken "it's the best!". DD had kids fish & chips which she liked much more than the Raglan Rd version. DN ordered a side salad as "the menu is small & nothing sounds good", which she didn't enjoy because it had blue cheese. I thought the salad was very tasty. We were happy with our experience.
Pros:
Good food, quickCons:

we booked here kicking and screaming at our daughter's insistence as we have always refused to take a nine hour flight and then eat in the 'UK'. She felt that after ten days in Florida she would need a taste of home and as we all choose a percentage of our reservations we went along for the ride. Suffice it to say that we weren't looking forward to this in the least - big mistake.
The only negative as per the previous poster is that we were automatically sat outside in the sun on a very hot August day.
Typically British we sat there without even considering asking to be moved but in hindsight we ought to have done so.
The view from outside however is beautiful and if like me you enjoy the heat you will love it.
We had soft drinks to start with (all served in pint pots - my Dad would be horrified to see a woman drinking out of a pint glass but hey when in America...............)
I then succumbed to a nice glass of English Lager and it was certainly as delicious as it is at home.
My husband ate the fish and chips and said it was as good as at home.
The other three of us had the surf and turf. A bizarre concoction of half fried fish and the other half roast dinner with steak instead of a normal roast beef but all was cooked to perfection. This was accompanied by an English 'Aunt Bessies' type of Yorkshire pudding.
For dessert my son had the trifle which was actually more like an old fashioned jelly and custard dessert rather than a traditional English trifle. The rest of us had an amazing sticky toffee pudding.
Rose and Crown you did us Brits proud. Our only suggestion is that you offer the choice of indoors or outdoors at the podium.
As an additional mention our server took lots of time to explain to my very interested twelve year old daughter exactly the details of her time working at Epcot, the interview procedure and all about her time in the USA. Fantastic!!
Pros:
excellent food, drink and serviceCons:

We have eaten several times at the Rose and Crown pub. This time around, we made our ADR as per the rules of our dining plan and on the evening of our dinner, checked in a little earlier than our 5:55 reservation. We watched the British Revolution show (love it!) to bide our time, and when we got called, our server tried to seat us in the outdoor section of the restaurant. This is not something we were interested in in the dog days of summer, in Florida no less! We quickly explained to him that we would wait for a table inside, of which there appeared to be many (although I know that they were all probably reserved as well). We had never experienced this problem before, and were sad to do so this vacation. Our food was very good as usual, and we love the pub-like atmosphere as well as the pleasant staff.
If you are making a reservation for this restaurant and do not want to eat outside, I suggest you specify your wants when doing so! It could have saved us 45 minutes of waiting.

Ate here May 21. I made a mistake and thought our ressies were for 535. We arrived and they couldn't find our ressie. After I found my information realized that we were 20 min early. they wrote our names downand told us it would only be a short wait. We asked to be seated inside as we weren't there to view Illuminations and it was hot. We were seated outside right along the water in bright sun. Now if I wanted to sit outside like in the past we would of ended up inside. This was our 3rd visit and as far as I am concerned our last. I have tried and tried to get this restaurant to work for us since this is a restaurant that my husband loves to visit as this is a fond childhood memory for him. But really, a simple request cannot be met? Then to only find out that there were plenty of seats available inside since you had to go through the restaurant to use the restroom. Our waitress was not friendly at all and when my dd5 asked what country she was from she gave a smart comment. I am sorry you aren't happy working there find another job.... the food was okay, the fish and chips were greasy, the steak had grissle on it and my son said that he makes a steak better which we agreed. my husband does love the bloody Mary's there and did drink one but asked for a refill and never got one. My son asked for the potatoe leek soup even though it was 95 degrees outside and never got it either, the waitress finally brought it out as we were about done with dinner. She took the soup off of his bill. Not sure if I will give this one another try. Maybe visit the bar for drinks next time.

My husband and I ate here on May 3, 2014 for dinner. Our server, Nate was attentive and welcoming. We had the Scotch egg for an appetizer. I loved it (he didn't but since he doesn't like eggs that is ok). We both had Guiness for our drinks. For dinner, he had the Shepard's Pie and liked it. I had Bangers and Mash. I thought it was good. This is definitely on our list of places to return and try again.

One of our favorite places. We just love the atmosphere here . I highly recommend the scotch egg, bangers & mash and cottage pie which we have had on previous visits.
This visit hubby had the fish & chips which he raved about. I had the ploughmans lunch as I wanted something simple and high in protein and this fit my needs. I will have to say that the chicken was dry and I did not finish it.
Pros:
Great atmosphere - Love the scotch eggCons:

I ate 2 mid afternoon meals here during my March week long visit. I love this restaurant and this time it was wonderful. I was seated outside each time; once closest to the water and it was unbusy and quiet. Being by myself, I really appreciate friendly and talkative cast members. I had great ones this trip; and the salmon dish my last day was scrumptious!! So glad I got to walk up and get a seat. Mid day was a good time, even in the "spring break" time.
Pros:
great cast members, and great foodCons:

We ate here for the second time and were so pleased. The food is well prepared and the service is excellent. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the lake and if you time it right you can watch Illuminations from your table!
