Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is officially closed! The ride’s last day of operation was Sunday, March 1st.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is now closed, and is to be rethemed into Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. It will reopen this summer with an all-new design and theme.
We stopped by one last time to see it closed. The gates were closed, with Cast Members standing outside. They said that the gates would open once the Villains show begins for the day at 10:30 AM.

The Aerosmith logo on the guitar has been taken down, but the embossed detail remains intact. All of the Aerosmith signage we could see from outside has been covered by beige tarps. Aerosmith is gone for good!

The new park map reads “Future home of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets” above the building. The neighboring Villains show, food truck KRNR The Rock Station, and the merchandise booth outside will all stay open during the closure, from what we can see listed on the map.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is being re-themed to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. The ride will follow the Electric Mayhem band now that G-Force Records has been bought by Scooter’s uncle. Scooter is running the record label with help from your favorite Muppets like Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Gonzo. It’s expected to open this summer!

Construction is already underway, with more permits being filed last week! They’re installing new signage (including this poster) and electrical work with permits from last month. Per last week, they’re adding new structural improvements and set pieces for the building.

We’re so sad to see Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith leave, but we’re not complaining about The Muppets moving in! We’ll see new animatronics of some of our favorite Muppets that have never been done before.

Stay tuned to AllEars for more Hollywood Studios news! We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the new Muppets coaster.
