It’s an iconic day in EPCOT — especially if you love some disco music and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

It’s the 21st night of September, which makes this a very well-known date thanks to Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September.” This is one of the six songs you can hear when you ride EPCOT‘s (arguably) most popular attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and to celebrate, it’s the ONLY song playing on the ride today! So, what do crowds look like in the park to celebrate this one-day “holiday?” We’re checking in ALL day to give you the latest scoop!
Right around the time when the park opened, at 9:15 AM, we checked the My Disney Experience app to find that Cosmic Rewind was already up to a 125-minute wait! While we’re sure this is largely due to the ride’s special overlay today, it also doesn’t help that Test Track and Living with the Land were not open at that time. The second-highest wait time in the park was Frozen Ever After at a 45-minute wait.

By 10:45 AM, the wait time dropped to 100 minutes. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that the wait time continues to drop as the day progresses, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Then at 11:30 AM, we noticed that the wait had jumped up slightly to 105 minutes, but Test Track was also still down. The actual line for the attraction was definitely taking up the outdoor queue!

The line does eventually move inside, which (in our experience) can hold about an hour’s long wait for the park, but when it’s almost double that, the line has to move outside.

Something interesting happened at around 12:45 though! Cosmic Rewind dropped to a 95 minute wait, BUT Test Track opened up again and had an 80 minute wait! However, in turn, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure went down, so it’s possible we could see either of those go down more in the near future.

We checked back again right after 5 PM to find that while ride closures weren’t an issue, Cosmic Rewind had jumped to a 130 minute wait! Looks like this ride likely won’t be calming down any time soon.

Don’t worry — we’ll be checking the wait time allll day to see how things change.

When you typically visit Cosmic Rewind (you know, not on September 21st), you’ll hear one of six songs during the ride:
- “September”
- “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”
- “Conga”
- “Disco Inferno”
- “I Ran (So Far Away)”
- “One Way or Another”
The playlist is random, so you truly never know what you’re gonna get until you blast off into space. It’s part of the FUN of the ride!
