NEWS: This Popular EPCOT Attraction Is Closed for Refurbishment

Spaceship Earth just started a long refurbishment in EPCOT, so if you didn’t get a chance to thank them, you might want to watch a video ride through because it might be a few months before you climb aboard and learn about the history of language and technology.

As of August 25th, 2025, Spaceship Earth is now closed for routine maintenance with plans to reopen later this year.

When we visited, there were lots of hedges covering part of the queue as well as a sign outside saying it was closed.

We don’t have the exact reopening date, but the promise of later this year is keeping us motivated. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more information, but this is just a refurbishment and we’re not expecting any major changes.

Because the entire ride takes place inside, we won’t be able to get any sneak peeks until the reopening date, but we’ll be thrilled to ride it and see if we can spot any differences.

What we’re mostly excited for in EPCOT right now is the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, which runs from August 28th to November 22nd. Food booths have been popping up around the park, and we got a look at all the menu items coming.
