A Word of WARNING About Visiting EPCOT on February 23rd

You may want to run away from EPCOT on February 23rd.

EPCOT

This year’s Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend is scheduled for February 21st through the 24th. As always, the weekend will feature several events for competitors and their families alike. However, they can cause some consternation for non-race visitors visiting the resort that weekend.

Case in point: On February 23rd, EPCOT will be opening an hour later than normal.

Early entry will begin at 9:30AM as opposed to the usual 8:30AM, while the park proper will open at 10:00AM as opposed to 9:00PM.

This is because the 23rd will see the weekend’s third overall race, the half marathon itself, which takes part partially in EPCOT. This year’s race will be Sleeping Beauty-themed and feature a “13.1-mile journey with Princess Aurora as she confronts the wrath of Maleficent” where runners are warned to “watch out for cursed spindles!”

The race will offer several highlights including:

  • An array of Disney Character sightings
  • Half Marathon Finisher Medal
  • On-course and post-race refreshments
  • Participant shirts
  • Digital Expo and Event Guide
  • A downloadable Finisher Certificate
