An Iconic Opening Day Ride Has Reopened in Magic Kingdom – See What Has Changed!

Peter Pan’s Flight has officially reopened in Magic Kingdom!

Peter Pan’s Flight has reopened!

This beloved Magic Kingdom attraction closed down for refurbishment on July 8th, 2024, and was expected to reopen on August 20th, 2024. However, the attraction opened early and you can once again soar through the skies on Peter Pan’s Flight!

Peter Pan’s Flight is an opening day attraction at Magic Kingdom and we are so excited to see it back open. We stopped by to see if there were any changes made during the refurbishment.

Even though Peter Pan’s Flight is back open for all guests, you currently can’t book a Lightning Lane selection for the ride. We asked a Cast Member and they said that you won’t be able to book a Lightning Lane Multi Pass for the attraction until Monday, August 19th. Right now, the only option for riding Peter Pan’s Flight will be utilizing the stand-by queue.

We did notice that the air conditioning did not seem to be working very well in the queue and several of the interactive queue elements were turned off. While we didn’t notice anything new in the queue, one of the scenes on the ride did have a change!

A scene was updated!

The scene that features the Neverland Tribe’s harvest celebration got an update. Previously all the characters depicted in the scene were sitting on the ground, but now a turntable was introduced and Tiger Lily and her great-grandmother are seen moving around the celebration.

As well, new designs have been introduced into the scene. Previously there was a buffalo, a bird, and a sun. Now you can see a turtle, the “second star to the right”, and a paw print. There is also a larger drum that is being played instead of the two smaller drums before.
