Are the changes ever going to slow down in Disney World?

I mean, we’re seeing construction projects everywhere, changes come to rides like Country Bear Jamboree and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and even ride shut down for more changes (Test Track). But there’s one that we’re still getting our bearings with. We’re talking about Disney’s brand-new Lightning Lane system. Now we’re using it every day to learn all of the ins and outs, and we noticed that you’re getting something wrong about the new system. We’ve got to talk about it!
In case you’ve got no idea what we’re talking about, Disney replaced Genie+ with a brand new skip-the-line system called Lightning Lane Multi Pass (LLMP). This new system came to be back on July 24th and from that first day, we’ve been in the parks diving into every aspect of that system to learn all the ins and outs, the good and the bad, and especially the most confusing things about it.

As we were saying, it’s basically the new “pay-per-ride” service that works for the most popular Disney World attractions. With this new system you can purchase this option BEFORE your Disney World visit (seven days in advance for Disney hotel guests and three days for everyone else), and you can make your selections in advance too!

Now, here’s what we’ve noticed (that you might be getting wrong with this new system): Being that this new service allows you to plan ahead, that means you can buy LLMP and make your selections for later in the day in the second park you’re planning to go to. That way you can rope drop a park and then park hop over to this other park and thereby maximize your time spent!

If that’s not clear, let’s try to break this strategy down. First, let’s say you really want to ride Frozen Ever After in EPCOT, but want to spend most of the day riding the rides at Magic Kingdom.

In this example, we’d have you buy LLMP for Magic Kingdom and book your three Lightning lanes and then come the morning of, you’d start by rope dropping EPCOT and booking your behind over to Frozen before heading over to Magic Kingdom.

The same strategy can work for any of the other parks too. So if you wanted to rope drop Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and then buy LLMP for EPCOT for later in the day, that would work too.

There you have it. It’s another way you can maximize your time and LLMP while your at Disney World.
We’re covering every single question or angle you can think of when it comes to this new system by Disney. If you want the updates delivered right to you, sign up for our newsletter.
