Rides close in theme parks — it happens!

However, that doesn’t make it any less of a bummer when it happens on your vacation and you don’t know if you’ll get to ride it. Some days include many closures while others are minimal, and there’s not really a way to tell what day you’re about to have. We do keep an eye on how many closures happen each month though, so let’s check out which rides closed the most in May.
Magic Kingdom
Over in Magic Kingdom, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh closed 29 times in 17 days!

Right behind that was Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which closed 28 times in 17 days. This isn’t as surprising, as this ride does include a lot of technology that can malfunction and cause the ride to go down.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Meanwhile, over in Hollywood Studios, it may come as a HUGE surprise that the top spot is held by Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! It closed 52 times in 25 days.

This means that for the first time in a looong time, Rise of the Resistance closed 50 times in 22 days, which means that it’s in second place, not first!

EPCOT
In EPCOT however, we’re not surprised that Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure closed 21 times in 16 days.

Frozen Ever After closed the second-most amount of times, which is 19 times in 14 days.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Dinosaur is in the top spot in Animal Kingdom, closing 17 times over 14 days.

However, Kali River Rapids tied, closing 17 times over 13 days. This means that for the first time in a while, neither of the Pandora rides are on this list — pretty impressive!

Universal Studios
Now here’s where it gets really interesting. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is notorious for having some issues, but this past month, it closed 49 times in 24 days. That’s a LOT of closures.

It also doesn’t surprise us that Fast and the Furious: Supercharged closed 42 times in 22 days. While this ride isn’t necessarily the most popular in the park, it does have a lot of technical aspects that can cause it to go down.

Islands of Adventure
It’s no surprise to us that VelociCoaster closed 78 times in 27 days. This ride closes very often due to, once again, the advanced technology.

However, the second ride that closed the most DID surprise us. The Cat in the Hat closed 56 times in 23 days. (Yeah, not what we were expecting either.)

And that’s what ride closures looked like for the month of May! As always, stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney and Universal news.
