It’s only been a few weeks since Splash Mountain closed its doors for good in Disney World.

This spot will now become Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which is expected to arrive in late 2024. Lots has already changed in the park since the closure, but now we’ve got some updated photos of what construction is looking like!
From the sky, you can see that blue scrim is now covering the outside of all the exposed log flumes.

It’s also clear to see that all the water from the ride has been drained and that there’s a lot going on behind the ride where we can’t see from the ground.

From the ground, the blue scrim is clearly visible, and it really prevents you from seeing inside the ride at all.

They’ve even covered the very top of the drop, which was really hard to see in, to begin with.

Down on the track, a black panel is also keeping outside viewers from seeing the magic happening within. This leads us to believe that they’re beginning to work hard on the inside of the ride, or will be soon!

The signage for Splash Mountain is still up at the entrance.

In the new ride, the structure is an old salt mine, so while we know the inside will be changing a LOT, we’re not sure how much of a redesign the outside will see. As they’re covering the inside first, we’re assuming the Imagineers are starting with the indoor refurb first before moving to the outside!
