PHOTOS & VIDEO: Mickey Was Looking DIFFERENT in Magic Kingdom Today!

When you’re visiting Magic Kingdom, you never know who is going to stroll down Main Street, U.S.A.

Every day, the streets fill with Disney characters (and sometimes even celebrities) making their way through the park with cavalcades. While the Festival of Fantasy Parade hasn’t returned just yet, we did recently get to see the debut of the new Adventure Friends Cavalcade. And, today we stumbled upon a cavalcade with 100 (!!) extra special guests.

This year, the Disney Dreamers Academy has returned to Disney World to celebrate its 15th anniversary! The program itself supports Black students and teenagers from underrepresented communities in America by focusing on creating opportunities for them and fostering future careers (both inside and outside of Disney).

There are a lot of different components to the program, but one unique opportunity for all the participants is the chance to be in a Disney World parade. And, today we saw them in Magic Kingdom!

The parade kicked off with the Disney Dreamers Academy 15 year banner…

…and following closely behind was Mickey Mouse, himself! Let’s take a closer look at that costume because it’s RARE to see him sporting this look.

Mickey was leading the Jones High School drumline in his drum major attire! 

The rest of the cavalcade included special celebrity guests like Kelly Rowland (who is a Program Ambassador for Disney Dreamers Academy)…

…and, of course, some other Disney characters joined in too! We spotted Chip ‘n’ Dale, Pluto,…

…Goofy…

…Princess Tiana…

…and Minnie, Donald, and Daisy!

The 100 participants all made their way down Main Street, U.S.A. between the characters holding signs with their home states and Disney Dreamers Academy banners.

And, with that, the 2022 Disney Dreamers Academy has kicked off in Disney World! Of course, we’ll keep an eye out for more exciting updates, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
