Gone are the days of Disney’s Magical Express.

The free bus service provided by Disney that shuttled guests between the Orlando International Airport and their Disney World hotels was officially discontinued on January 1st, 2022. Instead, guests can now choose from new (paid) transportation options, like Mears Connect. As of today, another option for getting to your Disney World hotel from the airport has officially started operations!
Getting from the Orlando International Airport to Disney World just got a whole lot easier — an entire bus fleet easier! The Sunshine Flyer is another Magical Express replacement option, and this one will transport guests on buses that look like 1920s steam engines. Today, spotted one of these buses driving around Disney World during the service’s first day!

The Sunshine Flyer is operated by Orlando’s Transportation Management Services and has comparable pricing to the currently operating Mears Connect services. A one-way service costs $17 per adult and $12.50 per child, and a round-trip service costs $34 per adult and $25 per child.

The shuttle service is scheduled to leave the airport within 20 minutes of your arrival and will be a shared service (meaning you won’t be able to rent a private bus just for you or your party).

Disney guests can catch their Sunshine Flyer from the Main Terminal Building in Terminal B, Level 1. There may be multiple stops on your route depending on which Disney resort you’re staying at, but the Sunshine Flyer’s website states that getting to the final stop will not take more than 65 minutes after departing MCO.

Wondering how you’ll know when it’s time to head back to the airport? The Sunshine Flyer will send a confirmation email with the shuttle’s departure time the day before hotel check-out.

You can find more information and even book your reservation here. We’ll be checking for more Sunshine Flyer updates as operation begins. If you’ve used the Sunshine Flyer service, we want to know what you think — create an AllEars account and leave a review!
