What Rope Drop Looks Like If You Don’t Qualify for Early Theme Park Entry in Disney World

Two new services are replacing Extra Magic Hours in Disney World: Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours.

EPCOT

Both of the services allow certain guests to spend extra time in the Disney parks, either before or after the parks’ normal hours. We’re taking a look at what the morning crowds are like for guests who DON’T qualify for these hours.

Early Theme Park Entry is available for guests staying at a Disney World hotel (or select other hotel). Those guests can enter the parks a half hour earlier than the normal opening time.

We took a look earlier this morning at the crowds for Early Theme Park Entry…

…but what about everyone else, who has to wait the half hour until the normal park opening time? We’ve got more info on that for you here. We waited outside the entrance with others who didn’t qualify for early entry.

EPCOT crowds

There were definitely quite a few people here, and lines extended through EPCOT’s entrance area.

Lines are forming

Even with the crowds, we were able to get through the lines and enter the park in about 10 minutes. EPCOT opened at 11AM for guests who don’t qualify for the extra morning time.

By 11:10, we were inside the park and ready to go! Keep following AllEars for more updates on changes around Disney World.
