PHOTOS: Disney World’s Affection Section Petting Zoo Has Reopened!

2020 has been a roller coaster of a year — and not the fun kind. 

That’s why we’ll take all the emotional comfort we can find, and really there’s no better antidote for this year than the preciousness of Disney World’s petting zoo, which has finally reopened! 

Affection Section, like numerous other attractions and restaurants throughout Disney World, had remained closed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom…until today!

Located at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, we’ve always loved a trek out here for the peaceful environment, and of course the opportunity to interact with the most adorable animals we’ve ever seen. 

With all the ups and downs of this turbulent year, a petting zoo is like a soothing balm for the soul, so we’re thrilled to see it open again!

We clearly weren’t the only ones excited to see it return, because on reopening day, families flocked to Affection Section for the opportunity to pet all the cute farm animals we know and love. 

There were sheep! 

There were pigs! 

There were goats! 

So many goats we hardly knew what to do with ourselves! 

What the world needs most right now is quality time with baby goats. 

Of course, Disney made sure to prominently display hand washing signs as well! 

Of all the attractions to reopen at Disney World, Affection Section is one of the most under-the-radar spots, but it’s one that brings pure joy at a time when it’s needed most!
