4 CHANGES Happening in July in Disney World

The summer is officially here, and that means Disney World is about to get hot and busy!

Magic Kingdom

This has been a wild year at Disney World so far! We’ve seen Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets open, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad make its grand return alongside Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, announcements on new lands, and so much more. There are still more things to come in July at Disney World, and we’re here to break it down.

Fourth of July

Of course, the day everyone is looking forward to at Disney World during the month is July 4th. It’s going to be an extra big celebration this year, as America is celebrating its 250th anniversary!

There are going to be some awesome things happening around Walt Disney World for the anniversary, including things like the Electrical Water Pageant, exclusive character experiences, and limited-time food. Keep an eye out for this stuff across the resort!

Disney’s Celebrate America! at Magic Kingdom

If there’s one park to go to on the Fourth of July, it’s Magic KingdomMain Street, U.S.A is decorated with tons of fun decor, but the best part of the celebration is the nighttime spectacular, Disney’s Celebrate America! — A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.

Walt Disney World Fourth of July Fireworks

The Fourth of July fireworks at Magic Kingdom are a sight to be seen. Think of your usual nighttime spectacular, and then think GRANDER. The show will play across all three nights of the holiday weekend on July 3rd, July 4th, and for the first time, on July 5th. The fireworks take place at Cinderella Castle, and you can see them from the front of the castle as well as along Main Street, U.S.A.

Beautiful!

Heartbeat of Freedom at EPCOT

Look, we know we said Magic Kingdom is the place to be on July 4th, but you can strongly make the case that EPCOT could be the go-to park. EPCOT has its own annual Fourth of July fireworks show called Heartbeat of Freedom, and it is something special!

Heartbeat of Freedom

This show is usually only held once a year on July 4th, but to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, it will be shown on three nights in 2026 — July 3rd, 4th, and 5th at 9:15 PM nightly.

Heartbeat of Freedom

It’s a 5-minute patriotic finale shown directly after Luminous: The Symphony of Us, which starts at 9 PM. Like Luminous, it can be seen anywhere along the World Showcase Lagoon.

It’s amazing!

Also, America’s 250th anniversary at EPCOT will bring patriotic lighting on Spaceship Earth and Voices of Liberty performances. Don’t forget that you can try out the new limited-time Soarin’ Across America version of the iconic Soarin’ ride as well.

Carousel of Progress

The last big thing to note for July at Disney World is a little bit of a tough one. Carousel of Progress in Magic Kingdom will officially close on July 6th, with its last day of operation being July 5th. It is set to reopen in 2027 with a completely different look (and we mean COMPLETELY).
