It’s Official — A Popular Disney World Hotel Restaurant Is Closing Soon

We can imagine that some Disney World visitors are frustrated with all the closures happening all over the resort right now. Pools are closed for refurbishment, entire portions of parks are closed for new lands and expansions, some rides are closed, and more.

Grand Floridian Cafe

Well, we’re about to add one more thing to that list of closures in Disney World. Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be temporarily closing this summer.

As you may know, the Grand Floridian has been getting a LOT of huge updates over the past few years, including a brand new lobby and lobby bar. The Garden View Tea Room has also been under refurbishment, although it’s set to reopen soon. Construction around the hotel was also recently extended through 2027. Well, now we know what else will be getting some TLC at the hotel: the Grand Floridian Cafe.

The Grand Floridian Cafe will be closed from mid-July through October 2026 for a “refresh.” That means you won’t be able to dine in the restaurant until it reopens, but when it reopens, it may have an entirely new look. This was a popular cafe for brunch at the hotel, but we’ve got good news: the brunch will temporarily move to Citricos.

All other dining locations at the Grand Floridian will remain open, so you still have alternatives for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including:

Narcoossee’s

The Grand Floridian is also a Monorail resort, so if you’re craving something different, you always have the option of taking the Monorail to other hotels, like Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

If you are staying at the Grand Floridian, though, you may see and hear construction work during daytime hours. Construction work could also mean you’ll have to take detours when walking around the resort.

We’ll keep an eye out for more construction and closures, so be sure to check back with AllEars again soon for more.
