CONFIRMED: Disney’s Grand Floridian Refurbishment Extended Until 2027

Construction continues in Disney World! Around the theme parks, there are tons of changes happening, like the Magic Kingdom expansion, the new lands coming to Hollywood Studios, and the demolition of DinoLand in Animal Kingdom.

It isn’t just the theme parks, though; the resorts are also included in this refurbishment era! Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, the resort’s refurbishment has been extended.

That’s right, the Grand Floridian is still getting some TLC (tender love and construction). Disney has confirmed that renovations will continue in select areas, like the porte cochere, through early 2027.

They did warn that guests may “see or hear refurbishment” during the daytime. They even warned that they might need to take “alternate paths of travel.” The project on the porte cochere will be the latest update to the hotel after what feels like years of work.

The resort has worked on several additions over the last few years, like the lobby updates that included new flooring and furniture, the addition of the lobby bar, The Perch, and the reopening of the Garden View tea room in March 2026.

In 2025, construction prevented the return of the popular Gingerbread House during the holiday season, but it’s unclear if it will have the same impact in 2026. If the work is only on the port cochere, we don’t see why it would impact the decoration inside the hotel.

We’re eager to see how construction will impact guests and how long it will officially take. Disney’s flagship resort has needed several updates for a while, so we’re glad to see them taking place. As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney news, updates, construction, and more.
