Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa has been undergoing major refurbishments in the lobby, and we’ve been eagerly watching for all the updates coming to our beloved Deluxe Resort.

While there are still construction walls up, we can finally see so much new progress in the lobby, and we’re crossing our fingers that this means it’s on the tail end of being a work zone. Come see the new details at the Grand Floridian!
Here’s a good overview of everything! There’s new carpet and furnishings. There are many different furniture offerings in a ton of colors.

Another view from up top! We can see that the Lobby Bar, based on the birdcase elevator visible at the top of the photo, is still being worked on. We’re probably most excited for the bar because the idea of listening to a piano player and drinking champagne in the lobby sounds so relaxing.

Here’s a closer look at the furniture. These furnishings are meant to “blend rich finishes and brass accents with cozy, welcoming fabrics — plus a few playful touches inspired by Florida’s natural beauty and Victorian decorating trends.”

The carpet is so bright! It’s inspired by “Victorian-inspired borders and scrollwork featuring hand-drawn florals inspired by turn-of-the-century botanical studies.” I see a few hidden Mickey heads in there, too.

The piano! If you’ve ever been to the lobby of the Grand Floridian, you might have heard the wonderful piano player. It’s such a fun touch in the lobby, and we love finding all the piano players across Disney World property.

We couldn’t leave you without one more look at the furniture. The blues, yellows, and creams bounce off the bright carpet, too. The accent pillows are different colors on the cushions, so it gives a “mix and match” feeling.

While we’re bummed we won’t be able to see the massive gingerbread display this year, we know our patience will be rewarded when we get to see it next year and how stunning it will look in the newly refurbished lobby.
