We’ve Never Seen THIS Happen To The Magic Kingdom Monorail

We’ve all had rough days in Disney World. Even though you’re on vacation and want everything to be perfect, life still happens and can catch up to you in the parks.

Rough days don’t just happen to the PEOPLE in Disney World, though, it can also happen to the rides and attractions, and even some of the transportation. We’ve seen the Monorail go down before, sure, but we’ve never seen THIS happen with our own eyes before!

Sometimes, the Disney World Monorail has some trouble, but it’s able to start back up again on its own without too long of a delay. Other times, they know it needs maintenance, but it’s able to drive to the station where it can be taken out of the lineup to be fixed, and also not hold up other trains.

However, there are sometimes when the Monorail just won’t go. It doesn’t happen super often, in fact, we’ve seen it pretty rarely, but it DOES happen. Just like how some rides have sections of time that they totally stop working, even if it’s only one thing wrong, due to safety precautions? Sometimes the same thing happens with the Monorail. And yesterday? That’s what happened.

In this case, it’s important for Disney to get the affected train off the track as soon as they can, that way they can continue running other trains on the same track and avoid more delays all around. But how does Disney get the train that won’t move off the track? Well, we saw that firsthand yesterday, and the answer is a little tugboat!

It’s true! Yesterday, one of the Monorail trains just wouldn’t go right near the Magic Kingdom station, and a tugboat had to come out to bring it away to be fixed. It was pretty cool for us to see, but also that’s partially because we were on the ground, and we’re able to travel to the parks very frequently. For those who are traveling to the parks and don’t get to visit often, issues like this can put a damper on the day. That’s why we tell you to prepare for multiple different plans for each day of your trip, though, that way you’re not left feeling disappointed and lost when Plan A doesn’t work out!
