ALERT! New Construction Walls Are Up at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom

We got some exciting news from Magic Kingdom for you!

Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin

We’re getting closer and closer to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin reopening with a brand-new look. Disney has been sharing a lot of news around the ride, from permits being filed to first looks at what’s to come. We recently went to the park and noticed that there are new walls up in front of the ride!

If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!

We’re trying not to freak out too much, but there are new walls up at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. This means work is now being done on the outside, and we’re getting closer to its opening.

The wall doesn’t take up too much space at Tomorrowland, but it is obviously very noticeable.

The wall surrounds the entrance!

The wall surrounds the entrance to the ride. When we say this is new, we mean brand-new. We didn’t see it there when we went to Magic Kingdom this past weekend.

They’re doing work on the outside!

Whenever construction is being done at Tomorrowland, we always hop on the PeopleMover to see if we can catch a glimpse of what’s happening. There’s a little hack for you if you’re a curious cat when it comes to construction in Tomorrowland!

On the PeopleMover, looking at the construction

It doesn’t look like much has happened at all to the outside. The walls did JUST go up, so that’s probably all they’ve done right now.

We are getting a peek behind the wall!

Disney announced not too long ago that the ride is expected to reopen during Spring 2026, around the same time as Big Thunder Mountain. Technically, Spring doesn’t officially end until June 21st, 2026. So, we still might have to wait half the year — but it’s coming!

We can’t wait!

The attraction will feature new targets, new blasters, new ride vehicles, and a new scene to start off the attraction. The updated ride will feature Buddy, a new character introduced for the attraction.

SO excited

Buddy is a support bot at Star Command, and she will be integral to getting guests ready for their mission — making sure blasters are calibrated, star cruisers are ready, and providing target practice.
