We’re in the Disney World parks every day, which means that while most people on vacation don’t want to get stuck on a ride, and especially not evacuated off of one, we find it to be pretty exciting!

Since we’re often not on the vacation of a lifetime like other guests are, we think it’s pretty special to be able to see a ride scene in a way we’ve never seen it before, like Space Mountain with the lights on, or being evacuated off of the PeopleMover and getting to walk the track. However, one of our team’s family members was in the parks recently and got to see something even WE have never seen, and if we’re being honest, we’re a little jealous — he got to see DINOSAUR with the LIGHTS ON!
Now, if you’re being evacuated off of a Disney ride, you’ll very likely be told that when you’re backstage (aka once you’re out of the actual ride), photos and videos are strictly prohibited. However, if you’re in a ride vehicle and the lights are on, or you haven’t left the actual ride, then this announcement likely won’t be made, even if the lights do come on. That means that, as long as no announcement is made, you’re more than welcome to take photos and videos of what a ride looks like when you’re stopped with the lights on.

In this case, our team member’s father got stuck right around some of the pretty cool dinosaur animatronics — how cool is that?? You can really see the fake foliage well, which is often hidden by the darkness of this ride (as it is a TRUE dark ride), not to mention the detail on the dinosaurs.

We’ve got less than a month left to experience this iconic ride before it closes forever with the rest of DinoLand to become Indiana Jones themed as part of Tropical Americas, and while we’re looking forward to the new addition, lots of members of our team are going to be very sad to lose this beloved attraction.
