The 5 Worst Things We Ate in Disney World This Month

Hi, we’re AllEars. It’s our job to go to Disney World every single day, eat all the new Disney snacks, and share the best tips and tricks for your trip. But not every experience is magical, and not every meal is a five-star-er.

At times, our brave reporters trudge through the parks in pouring rain or ride the same attraction multiple times over to get the perfect shot. They’re dedicated, that’s for sure, especially when it comes to eating all the new snacks and deals around the parks. While many Disney foods are fantastic, some are far from it. We asked our reporters to share the WORST things they had this month in the parks so that YOU can avoid spending your hard-earned money on them. WOW, did they have some wild meals this month!

Let’s start with a not-so-bad meal to ease into this list. We tried the Smokehouse Combo from City Works over in Disney Springs. It’s $33.95 for Chicken Wings, a Hot Link, and Pulled Pork, along with a side of Spicy Maple Bacon Baked Beans and Mashed Potatoes. This dish wasn’t awful, but our reporter admitted some of the meats were pretty dry and that you didn’t get much for the price you paid.

Unfortunately, the Garlic Bread and Marinara over at Catalina Eddie’s in Disney’s Hollywood Studios was also…not great. The marinara sauce here is the same that goes on Disney’s pizzas, and as a dipping sauce, it was just way too thick. This bread also doesn’t have any cheese on it, which we also feel would have made it pair better with the sauce, but that wasn’t the case. As it currently stands, this one is just middle of the road — nothing special, and if you’re someone who’s sensitive to textures, you won’t be a fan of this one.

This isn’t the first “meh” meal we’ve had at Catalina Eddie’s, either. If you found a dish you loved here (or hated), leave a review!

We also weren’t a fan of the Chicago Dog from Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom this month. It’s topped with Diced Tomatoes, Onions, Yellow Mustard, and Chicago Green Relish. The hot dog itself was fine, but you really have to love relish and onions to enjoy this, because it’s smothered in them. Otherwise, the mustard on here is totally standard, and while you can pick off a lot of the relish, onions, and diced tomatoes if you don’t like them, then you’re basically left with a plain hot dog, which is nothing special.

The good news is that Casey’s Corner has plenty of popular snacks — check out the reviews below!

We also grabbed the Bacon Cheeseburger from Backlot Express in Hollywood Studios, and unfortunately, this wasn’t a winner.  For $13.99, you get a 1/3 lb Angus Bacon Cheeseburger on a Brioche Bun, served with Carrot Sticks or French Fries.

We couldn’t recommend this burger LESS

The bun was about the driest piece of bread we’ve ever had; it was practically crumbling all over the place. The ground beef patty was also incredibly crumbly in the worst way and had NO salt or seasoning at all. The cheese was the same way — no flavor at all — and while the bacon was the best part of the sandwich, it was only because it had a bit of salt and savory flavor to it. Generic Disney World burgers are very rarely going to be the best you’ll find, but we do think this is one of the weakest for sure.

Finally, we have the Vegan Cheese Pizza over at Via Napoli in EPCOT, which our resident vegan, Breedlove, tried this month. According to him, this really isn’t Via Napoli’s fault, as this is the vegan cheese Disney World uses as a whole, practically. In the words of Quincy, who was with him, the texture of this cheese is like “Elmer’s Glue if you mixed it with mozzarella,” and Breedlove followed up by saying that he shudders when he thinks of it, and he calls it “radically sticky.” So, yeah, that sounds…not great. But if you don’t mind Disney’s vegan cheese, this might still be a winner for you!

If you are able to try the regular pizza, though, it is pretty well-loved!

And there you have it — the five eats we had this month that we probably wouldn’t get again. Looking for more recent reviews from around the Disney World parks? Check out our posts below!
