What Is the “Servants Quarters” Pass at the Haunted Mansion in Disney World, and Who Can Use It?

Welcome, foolish mortals! We will be your host…your Ghost Host… as we reveal a secret Haunted Mansion tip you may not have heard about before.

Haunted Mansion in Disney World

When it comes to Disney World, there are tons of tips and tricks you can use to make your trip easier or more comfortable. However, there are a handful of SECRET tips and tricks that only hardcore fans know. We heard that only 999 happy haunts are aware of this secret Haunted Mansion tip…care to be the 1000th?

Our tip deals with one of the most famous parts of the Haunted Mansion attraction in Disney World: the stretching room. Look, as iconic as the stretching room is for Haunted Mansion fans, we can admit that it is a little creepy — especially for little ones. From the spooky ghost host’s speech to the deadly pictures on the walls, and then ending with a flash and a scream, there are kids (and adults) who aren’t fans of the stretching room. Not to mention, you’re in a tight enclosed space with tons of other people. Not everyone is comfortable with that scenario!

Stretching Room at the Haunted Mansion

The tough thing is, there are lots of visitors who are not fans of the stretching room but LOVE the ride. But you might think that the only way to get to the ride is THROUGH the stretching room…or is it?

Wave hi at the picnicking couple!

Did you know that you can actually SKIP the Haunted Mansion stretching room? It’s true! Once you get to the end of the queue, right in front of the wooden doors before the pre-show, talk to a Cast Member. Ask the Cast Member at the wooden doors for a way around the preshow, and they’ll give you a printed slip that says “servants quarters” on it.

“Servants Quarters” slip!

The Cast Member will ask you to approach another Cast Member nearby before you move into the stretching room. You’ll give them the slip, and they will then give you directions into a hallway, which will lead you to the exit of the ride.

He’s trying to get out!

You’ll turn left, and there will be a hallway (we believe usually reserved for scooters, wheelchairs, and tours). There, you’ll be greeted by another Cast Member and directed on how to get back in line to board the ride. Pretty cool, right?!

So, whether you have little ones who don’t like the pre-show, or you’re not a fan yourself, use this trick to skip it next time you ride the Haunted Mansion! Oh, and if you’re wondering, no, this does not save you any real time in line, so it’s not exactly a Lightning Lane to the front of the ride.
