The RISKY Disney World Hotel Hack for the Last Day of Your Trip

If you’re staying at a Disney World Resort and not taking advantage of all the perks, what are you doing?

Not only does staying at a Disney World hotel keep you closer to the magic, but you can also take advantage of the free benefits included in your stay. Hotel guests can use the free transportation located all across Disney World, which includes buses, watercraft, monorails, and the Skyliner, making it easy for you to get around the resort. All hotel guests, regardless of whether they are staying at a Value, Moderate, or Deluxe Resort, can enter the parks 30 minutes early each day during Early Theme Park Entry. Those staying at Deluxe Resorts can partake in Extended Evening Hours, which allows you to stay in the park for select nights two hours after park closing. While those are well-known, there is one hotel hack that you may not have heard of that you’ll want to try at Disney.

We know the feeling of getting the Disney blues when it reaches the last day of your trip, and it is time to check out. Standard check-out at Disney World is at 11 AM, and we get it; sometimes, you want a little more time to get ready, or you may have a late flight and want to stay in your room longer.

9 Check-Out Mistakes You’re Making at Your Disney World Hotel

It is well known that you can ask for a late check-out at most hotels. But did you know that Disney offers late check-out as well?! Trust us, once you start asking, you won’t be able to go back. 

On the day of or close to your check-out date, you can reach out to the front desk either by phone in your room or by visiting them at the front desk. They will be able to tell you if your request can be accommodated, as well as how late past check-out you are able to stay.

This request is never guaranteed, which makes this hack risky, as housekeeping needs to turn rooms over to the next guests staying at the resort, but it never hurts to ask! It is good to have a backup plan in case a late check-out can not be accommodated.

If you cannot check out late, you can store your bags at Bell Services for free. They can even hold refrigerated items!

Once your bags are stored, you can still use all your hotel perks. Your MagicBand or Key to the World card will still be active, allowing you to swim at your resort pool. 

You can take advantage of the free transportation, hit the parks or shop, and grab a bite to eat at Disney Springs. If you are looking for a fun family activity, you can head over to Winter Summerland Miniature Golf or Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf. 

It never hurts to ask for a late check-out, but if the request can’t be accommodated, rest assured your bags can be safely stowed at your resort’s Bell Services, and there are still plenty of things to enjoy across Disney World, even on check-out day.

Don’t forget that for 2025 and 2026, guests receive free water park tickets for the whole family the day of their check-in when they stay at a Disney World Resort! You can drop off your luggage with Bell Services in the morning and head to a full day of water park fun.
