BREAKING! Lightning Lane CHANGES Announced for EPCOT Ahead of Test Track Reopening

EPCOT‘s new version of Test Track, the third edition of the ride as a whole, is finally getting ready to reopen in the park!

Test Track!

We finally have a reopening date for this attraction, and considering how popular this attraction will be when it finally opens its doors again, we’ve been wondering about how guests will be able to skip the line to save time. Now we know — Disney’s just announced how Lightning Lane will work for Test Track upon its reopening!

Disney has just announced that Test Track will immediately become part of Lightning Lane Multi Pass upon its reopening on July 22nd! This means that when you purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass for your EPCOT day (or for another park and then hop to EPCOT), it’ll be available for you to select.

Welcome to the new and improved Test Track!

EPCOT has tiers to its Lightning Lanes, and Test Track will enter as a Tier 1 ride. Additionally, Soarin’, which is currently a Tier 1 attraction, will move down to Tier 2.

When booking your first three Lightning Lanes, you can book one attraction from Tier 1, and two from Tier 2, or all three from Tier 2. That means you’ll have to decide between Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Test Track for your Tier 1 pick.

Ready to go!

Disney also confirmed that there will be NO Virtual Queue or Lightning Lane Single Pass for Test Track. To ride, your options will be Lightning Lane (via Multi Pass or Premier Pass) or the standby line.

The Virtual Queue system is controversial and recently disappeared when Cosmic Rewind switched to a regular standby queue. Looks like it’ll be even longer until we see the return of that!

Lightning Lanes for Test Track are bookable starting today for guests with longer resort stays. As a reminder, resort guests can book Lightning Lanes seven days before their trip (for the length of their stay at their hotel), and other guests can book three days before their trip.

There is also a Single Rider queue, but it’s not always a guarantee that it will be open. Keep an eye on it when you get there, because that can be an easy way to skip the long wait time!

Wow!
