Disney World is going through a lot of change right now!
One of the biggest changes is the addition of Lakeshore Lodge! This will be Disney’s newest hotel and will be located on the land where River Country used to be. The new hotel is expected to open in 2027, and we just got a new look at the progress! Let’s see it here.
In case you missed it, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is going to be a Disney Vacation Club resort! This new DVC resort is going to be next to Fort Wilderness to expand the Magic Kingdom resort hotels.
According to Disney, this resort “will be inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” From past concept art we’ve seen, we spotted characters like Bambi, Thumper, and Flower in the designs! This resort has gone through a few changes, but since it was officially confirmed in 2024, we’ve been watching construction like a hawk!
Now, we have a literal bird’s eye view of the changes thanks to Bioreconstruct! On June 28th, they shared aerial photos of the new hotel’s progress. You can see the hotel, as well as the parking lot around it, slowly beginning to take its shape!
They shared several photos from multiple angles. You can see the building’s skeleton a bit better in the photos below. There are clear openings where windows will be located.
They also shared a photo from even higher up to help demonstrate where the resort is located. You can see Fort Wilderness in the photo as well, to the right of the picture.
Previously, this resort was originally announced in 2018 with the name Reflections: A Lakeside Lodge. The project was put on hold early during the pandemic, but at D23 in 2024, Disney confirmed the project would continue with changes under the name Lakeshore Lodge.
Since then, Disney hasn’t shared tons of new information about the hotel. We can’t wait to see how it grows and develops over the next two years. As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney news and updates.
