I Previewed Epic Universe 12 Times and SOLD OUT Opening Day Is Almost the Emptiest I’ve Seen It

The day has FINALLY arrived — Epic Universe is officially OPEN!

Epic Universe!

I’ve been making my way around this brand-new park on opening day — but I’ve also been lucky enough to preview this park 12 (!!!) different times, and I’m honestly shocked about one thing. This “sold out” opening day is almost the emptiest I’ve ever seen Epic Universe!

Epic Universe is finally open, and I couldn’t be more excited about it! I’ve had the chance to preview this park a whopping 12 times, and each one has been more exciting than the last. On opening day, May 22nd, tickets for this park were completely sold out — at least according to Universal.

Celestial Park

But, if you ask me, the park seems just about as empty as the lowest capacity previews. The only day I’ve been here that has been emptier than this was maybe the first day of previews and the day that the park closed at 6 PM. It sort of seems like Universal may have undersold tickets for the day based on what we’re seeing.

HELLOOOO?

Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Universal, but I’d be surprised if this wasn’t the case. But, it’s better to be safe than sorry! For the most part, things have been going relatively smoothly on opening day — except for the most popular ride in the park, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

Where is everyone?!

Right after opening, there were LOTS of people beeline it to Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. Shortly after the opening ceremony, the wait time had already reached 150 minutes before the park even opened and hit a 300-minute wait before it went into delayed status. We spoke with Team Members and guests who were in line, and the ride never opened this morning. One guest waited about 2 hours before they were asked to leave the line.
