Well, You Don't See THIS at Disney's Hollywood Studios Every Day!

You never know what to expect at a Disney World theme park, as guests (including us!) visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios learned firsthand yesterday morning thanks to a little bit of pixie dust.

As the park opened on January 27th, we were greeted by a series of Disney characters — including a few relatively rare ones for this park — in the plaza outside the turnstile gates.

These characters included Baloo of Jungle Book fame…

…Captain Hook, appearing as dapper as ever…

…and his trusted first mate Mr. Smee, who appeared to be in need of a hug.

Awe, we feel you Mr. Smee.

Even Pocahontas’ relatively rarely-seen raccoon friend Meeko made an appearance…

…and apparently felt the need to get into some mischief.

Considering the somewhat random nature of this character surprise as opposed to the structured and scheduled nature of most others at Disney World, we were curious if this would become a normal part of Hollywood Studios’ operating day. We asked a cast member who informed us that yesterday was a “special day” that the characters were “just out today looking for pixie dust.” In other words, we wouldn’t expect to see this regularly.
