Why We’re SKIPPING the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT New Year’s Eve Fireworks This Year

The holiday season in Disney World is coming to an end, and New Year’s Eve will be here SOON.

If you plan on celebrating New Year’s Eve in Disney World, you’re not alone, and although there will be TONS of crowds, where better to ring in the New Year than at The Most Magical Place on Earth? However, you might be thinking that you’ll need to go to Magic Kingdom or EPCOT to see New Year’s Eve fireworks, and well, if you think that, you’re wrong.

Sure, you can see New Year’s Eve fireworks in both parks, but a third park in Disney World will also have a special New Year’s Eve fireworks show this year. This show will happen in Disney’s Hollywood Studios on December 31st at 11:57PM.

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM in Hollywood Studios

Although Hollywood Studios doesn’t necessarily advertise this EVERY year, we have seen special countdowns here before. Way back in 2017, Hollywood Studios even had a DJ dance party in front of the Chinese Theatre with special projections, followed by the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! nighttime show. However, it was a Star Wars-themed fireworks show, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, that rang in the New Year with a special surprise at midnight.

Of course, you can also catch New Year’s Eve fireworks in Magic Kingdom on both December 30th and December 31st when the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks ring in the New Year at 6:30PM and 11:50PM on each night.

In EPCOT, Cheers to the New Year: A Sparkling Celebration will happen at 11:54PM on New Year’s Eve.

If you will be heading to any of these parks for New Year’s Eve, your best bet is to get there early and stay all day because the parks could reach capacity, meaning that no one will be allowed to enter the parks after a certain number of people have entered. Magic Kingdom and EPCOT are the most likely to reach capacity, but with Hollywood Studios also having New Year’s Eve fireworks, it, too, could end up full.
