Is EPCOT Really Charging “Exorbitant” Prices at Its Festival of the Holidays This Year?

It’s Festival of the Holidays season in EPCOT, and while we love it, it does mean the park goes through a LOT of changes!

The holidays are here!

We love all the different holiday kitchens and all their offerings, as well as the entertainment to enjoy, but there’s one thing we’ve noticed as the years have gone on that we can’t ignore and we wondered if you all, our readers, noticed it as well — are some of the prices a little TOO much?

There are 18 different food booths at Festival of the Holidays, and that’s not counting the festival items available at quick service locations like Connections Cafe, Connections Eatery, Joffrey’s, and more!

We covered all the different booths during our coverage of the festival during its first two days, and along the way, we noticed that some items were priced WAY too high in our opinion. The number one culprit of that? The Spaceship Earth Tile Gingerbread Triangle at Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow.

Now listen, this thing is $10. TEN. DOLLARS. Myranda grabbed this one at the festival, but I happened to be sitting right across from her writing up Festival of the Holidays posts as she was trying it and giving her review, and she was way nicer than I was about it. Bottom line: it’s completely not worth the price, and I don’t personally think it’d be worth the price if it were only $5. This thing tasted like soft cardboard to me  — there was the slightest hint of flavor from the chocolate at the bottom, but that was it. No gingerbread flavor, nothing. In fact, I don’t think you’re getting the whole picture — this is how we felt about it:

So we turned to our readers on Facebook and asked them what they thought of the prices at the festival, and it seems that many guests are totally fine with the festival offering prices! Christa said:

“They seem much better than the other festivals, so no complaints here.”

Another reader, Nick, commented:

“We went last night and are going again tomorrow. So far the prices we paid were appropriate for what we bought.”

And we have to admit, the Gingerbread Tile was the only item that stood out to us drastically in a negative way, though there were a few other items that we feel weren’t up to par in general (we’re looking at you, Italy booth), but overall, our reporters were happy at the prices they paid for their food and drink.
