MagicBands have been around for over a decade at Disney World.
These handy vacation helpers have gone through several versions, and the newest MagicBands, MagicBand+, debuted around two and a half years ago. These new MagicBands still can do everything that a normal MagicBand can do, but they are interactive and can light up and vibrate. While MagicBands can make your vacation easier by acting as your park ticket, room key, and payment method, conveniently located on your wrist, you do not need a MagicBand to do Disney World, especially as they are an extra fee. Nonetheless, MagicBands and MagicBand+ can make your vacation, well… even more magical.
The new MagicBand+ can actually receive updates once connected to your phone’s Bluetooth and My Disney Experience app. Since Disney is able to now do these updates without you needing to buy a new band, seven new interactive experiences have been added across the Disney World Resort.Â
The holiday season has arrived, and if you are looking for a free Christmas activity, you are going to want to head to Disney Springs. Currently, you can participate in a free Christmas Tree Stroll. Simply pick up your map at City Works Eatery & Pour House, Crystal Arts by Arribas Brothers, Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea Company, The LEGO Store, and The Luxury of Time by Diamonds International.
While you search for all the fun Disney-themed trees, your MagicBand+ will interact with the Moana 2, Toy Story, The Lion King, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Haunted Mansion, Annual Passholder, Star Wars, Coco, Guardians of the Galaxy, Disney+, Lilo and Stitch, Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse, Encanto, The Princess and the Frog, Wish, and Disney Parks trees!Â
While you are on the hunt, stop by World of Disney and look for MagicBand readers throughout the outdoor display windows for a fun interactive surprise. You will want to have your camera ready to capture this special moment.
Since its start, MagicBand+ has interacted with fireworks shows and other nighttime entertainment, and now it can even interact with more shows!
In Animal Kingdom, your MagicBand+ will light up and vibrate when you go and see the Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!
Hollywood Studios is no stranger to entertainment, and your MagicBand+ will interact when you go see three popular stage shows.
At the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, your MagicBand+ will now light up and vibrate during the show. We noticed that our MagicBand+ lit up orange or red when there were explosions or fires.
Your MagicBand+ will light up blue when Elsa uses her powers at For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. Plus, it will even vibrate to prompt you when to sing.
Finally, at the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, your MagicBand+ will now also interact with the show.
Hollywood Studios will soon be home to two brand-new stage shows: The Little Mermaid—A Musical Adventure and a Disney Villains show. Both shows are set to open in 2025, and we have a feeling that MagicBand+ will be able to interact with them as well!Â
We are always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so make sure to continue to follow along with AllEars!
I would like to find NON-MAGIC bands…..just the original bands
