Something has CHANGED in EPCOT, and we’re actually beyond thrilled about it.
Soarin’ Around The World has been an iconic attraction in the park since its opening in 2005 (nearly 20 years ago; can you believe it?), but that means that there are parts of the ride that have become a little outdated as technology has improved — namely, the leaning Eiffel Tower if you’re seated anywhere other than the middle section. But we have good news — the leaning Eiffel Tower (IYKYK) is no more!
For years now, if you’re seated in Sections A or C of Soarin’, you’d get to the Paris scene and see the Eiffel Tower curved and bent so heavily it looked silly. But now, after YEARS of wondering if it would ever be fixed, we hopped on the ride and noticed that it’s now standing straight up like it should be!
The giant screen used on Soarin’ isn’t your average movie theater screen, so it takes a little extra movie magic to get all those iconic landmarks looking like they should.
Oh, and that wasn’t the only change we noticed — the end of the ride now shows an updated EPCOT scene! Previously, the footage was of EPCOT before its big transformation, but now it’s updated to reflect what EPCOT currently looks like at night.
While it means we won’t get to see nostalgic EPCOT anymore, infrequent visitors to Disney World were likely confused as to why the footage was so out of date and didn’t reflect the current look, so we get it.

Any information on how they made a convex screen not look bent?
Well, I was holding out hope that Disney would give us the Fountain of Nations back instead of changing the footage, but alas, at least they match now.
